Deltran
- 2 minutes read - 314 wordsA few weeks ago I purchased a Deltran 10Amp charger/tender as well as some connectors (a ring to SAE connector as well as a SAE extention cord). When the box arrived I was dissapointed to see that the 10Amp Charger/Tender does not have SAE two prong connectors built in to the device. After a little surfing around reviews and thinking over my use case I decided that I would like to have the two prong SAE option and the clamp option to set up for my use case. Here is how I did it.
I purchased a Three pack of 12 Guage wire to SAE connectors as well as a pack of connectors that would connect my 12AWG connectors to the 16AWG wire comming off of my Deltran Charger. I cut the clamps off for later connection to an SAE connector, and stripped the wire. The connectors I purchased came with a bit of solder on the the ends of the wires that needed to be cut off and the insulators stripped off to the spec of .53 inches that my adapter requested. I decided since the application of this would be mostly outdoors that I should solder the connection before crimping on my caps and taping them up with electrical tape. After a couple of weeks of using this setup the most irritating part was actually setting up the “Deltran Connected” app on IOS. It turns out after emailing with support the App itself has a bug that even though it specifically asks for upper and lower case as well as a number, it also needs a symbol and not all symbols count so if you run into this issue try a few different symblols. The charger may also have a bug that if your phone connects to the setup wifi after the power cycles that it won’t reconnect to your home wifi.
